Task 6 - Animation Production

This is the production of my animation, I started off with a simple cube and placed it to the side as I wanted it to move towards the middle.

I wanted the cube to spin towards the middle of the platform so I added in keyframes onto the position and rotation of the object. However, the object's corners and edges went through the platform so I had to go through each keyframe to move the object upwards to make it look like it was bouncing across the floor.

Then I started to add keyframes to the scale of the object making it look like it was extruding out in different directions as it bounced towards the middle. This made it look like it was trying to morph giving the box some life.

Next, I had to activate an add-on from the user preference page called "animall" this allowed me to give keyframes to the cube while editing it in edit mode, this then allowed me to manipulating the cube so it looked like there was something inside of it punching and trying to get out. It also allowed me to flatten the cube, this meant I could send the object flying into the air and as it came back down it would look like a water kind of object spreading out as it hits the floor.

Next, I designed a wine glass. There was originally going to be a different use for this which can be seen at the bottom. but due to how I had already started animating I couldn't pull off my intended animation, however, instead of letting the model go to waste I thought I'd use it to be part of my other animation.

After having the cube flattened out I thought I'd raise it into a volcano shape for the wine glass to rise through and sit upon.

Once that was done I created a sphere and had that "thrown" at the wine glass as though someone was trying to knock it off the pedestal.

This screen shot shows how the "animall" add-on works, you have to be in edit mode and to make sure the keyframes of the object are being added in after being manipulated you have to make sure the point box is ticked. Then add the keyframes as you move the object along.

note: the animation cannot be played while in edit mode.

Next, I modelled a hand.

I had to learn how to rig the hand so that I could move the separate pieces of its fingers for the animation, this allowed me to learn how to rig and made the distorting of the hand easier.

Finally, I textured each of the assets to be seen int he animation, the materials can be seen to the right of each object.

 Fail attempts

I was originally going to do two different animations, the first was for the flattened cube to morph into the wine glass but that had to be done at the start of the animation and I was too far in too start again. It involved placing in shape keys and even though I tried it, the morphing would not work.
The next one I tried was cell fracturing, I was going to have this bullet I created fly through the wine glass which would break the glass and have the wine content spilled out everywhere. I tried to use the grease pen on it but for some reason it would not work so I had to scrap the idea.
